My Story

For work I have mostly been in business development and product management in the healthcare, marine and shipping sectors. In recent years I have been working a hybrid role as a business development manager mid-week and a Tropic skincare senior ambassador and team leader around that. As a consultative seller I have always been intrigued by the way that different people interact with each other and how trust and rapport are built. Starting Camscoach with Steve has provided an opportunity for me to learn more and provide an essential component to the team workshops that I now co-facilitate.

What is DISC  ?

Behaviour and communication styles

What is it ?

DISC is a personality profile

There are many personality profile systems, philosophies and tests, DISC is one of the oldest and broadest models. It is based on the philosophy that there are four main influences on the way people engage. Dominance, Inspiration, Steadness and Concienciousness. By answering some simple questions online the way that you are most likely to present yourself is revealed.

How does it help ?

Being aware of how your natural tendencies and those around you can help to develop better rapport.

Where did it come from ?

William Moulton Marston

Key contributions to DISC came from Marston It was further refined into a profiling model by Walter Clarke in the 1950's and has continued to refine from there. The modern DISC assessment tools have many features and different testing. Overall they are considered useful for behaviour as linked to communication styles and work best with an accedited practiioner and a good teams coach.

What is the cost ?

£100 for a single assessment and consultation

We use DISC specifically as an introduction to awareness of self and a beneficial tool to help interaction with colleagues and customers, particularly around tricky or conflict based interactions. We find it consistently useful as a start point for team workshops.
